Why International Women’s Day Matters to Me

As a mature woman and co-founder of an online fashion store, I’m incredibly fortunate to be surrounded by a team of wonderful women. International Women’s Day is a moment to celebrate them—not just for their talent and hard work but for the warmth, kindness, and generosity they bring to my life every day.

These incredible women lift me up in ways big and small. Whether it’s sharing a fun chat, producing outstanding work, or having my back when I’m swamped, their support means the world to me. It’s a reminder that women empowering women is a force to be reckoned with.

Beyond work, the women in my family are truly extraordinary. A special shout-out to my mum, Gillian—my rock, my inspiration, and the embodiment of strength and love. And to my amazing daughter, Ashleigh—so talented, so caring, and a real chip off the family block. Watching her shine fills me with pride.

International Women’s Day isn’t just about recognising achievements; it’s about gratitude, appreciation, and continuing to lift each other up. So, here’s to all the brilliant, beautiful women in my life—thank you for everything you do!

When I hear from a customer telling me how excited and in love with their outfits they are and how amazing it makes them feel is why I love what I do. She showed me the power of resilience, determination, and kindness, and her influence has shaped the way I approach both my career and family life. We also want to acknowledge our beautiful Kristie, who diligently prepares your orders and fills the warehouse with her warmth and infectious laughter. 

We are incredibly lucky to work within such a wonderful team, and for all the uniquely brilliant TULIO team members we have had over the years.

It's safe to say we all love fashion, but our team and customers combined, with all their humour, kindness and creativity are the heart and soul of TULIO.

I love to support Tulio – the clothes are lovely of course, but the genuine warmth and ethics of Stacey and all the team add that extra “something”. It is easy to feel dismissed and less than valued as a woman reaches “a certain age” – but not us Tulio sisters! My Tulio group is so much more than just another fb group; many of us would never dream of posting photos of ourselves on social media, but here we are! Proud of ourselves. Personally, I am loving being a “customer model” for the Lives – so affirming and GREAT FUN.
